Description: This poster was produced for La Fête de l’Affiche, an event dedicated to the poster as a form of visual communication. Villemot was a leading French graphic designer and poster artist, known for campaigns for Orangina, Bally, Perrier and Air France.

The image was conceived as a poster design, based on his original artwork and printed as a lithograph. Built from flat areas of saturated colour and simplified silhouetted figures, the composition reflects his characteristic approach, defined by clarity, strong colour contrast and immediate visual impact.

Artist: Bernard Villemot (1916–1989) was a French graphic artist best known for his iconic advertising posters. He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris and was later mentored by the renowned poster artist Paul Colin, whose influence shaped his strong sense of composition and visual rhythm. Villemot first gained recognition for his work with the Red Cross during the Second World War, before going on to create celebrated campaigns for brands such as Orangina, Bally, Air France, and Perrier. His style blended bold colours, fluid lines, and simplified forms to achieve striking visual clarity. Often featuring the human figure in silhouette or abstraction, his work balanced elegance with immediacy. Villemot’s posters came to define post-war French commercial art, and today they are considered modern classics, widely collected and exhibited around the world.
