Description: Original lithographic exhibition poster produced for the Raoul Dufy retrospective at the Musée des Ponchettes in Nice, held from 23 March to 15 May 1954, the year following the artist’s death. Printed in Paris by the renowned Atelier Mourlot.
The poster reproduces Dufy’s Feu d’Artifice à Nice (Fireworks in Nice), a vibrant celebration of the city and the Côte d’Azur. With its palm trees, waterfront architecture and animated figures beneath a night sky, the composition captures the colour, movement and joie de vivre for which Dufy’s work became celebrated.
Created specifically to advertise the 1954 exhibition, this is an original period poster rather than a later reproduction.
